Kentaro Okumura

Kentaro Okumura, born in 2002, graduated from the Camberwell College of Arts in 2024, and currently lives and works in London. His paintings channel collective consciousness through personal expression, contemplating the human condition, the self-universe relationship, and a longing for harmony and beauty. They capture the creative spirit's essence, expressing emotions and ideas through color, music, and dance as written memories. Rooted in modernist aesthetics, his work synthesizes various modes of expression, focusing on the musicality of color, the speed of line, and the surface as evidence of time. It draws from Primitivism, Impressionism, and Minimalist Abstraction, expressing fluid and transient psychical and energetic states.

Recent exhibitions include solo show, Vardoxoglou Gallery, 2025; ‘On Feeling’ group exhibition, Approach Gallery, London, 2024; ‘Seeing Remains’ group exhibition, Oceans Apart Gallery, Manchester, 2023; ‘Contingency Part 1’group exhibition, Des Bains Gallery, London, 2023.
