Zhang Shijie

Zhang Shijie (born in 1996) is currently a graduate student in the Oil Painting Department of Hubei Institute of Fine Arts. His artistic practice combines different materials, such as the combination of old farbic and ready-made products such as wood boards. He attaches importance to unconscious motivations and the appropriation of realistic images, and uses concepts such as illness, trauma and death as intersections to explore the implicit connection between private reinterpretation of his memories and current social reality.
